As an image maker and writer I’m drawn towards intimacy and uncovering new ways of seeing our relationships with each other, technology, and the environments that inform them.
A background in architecture and the vast openness of the Midwest shaped my spatial sensibilities around light and volume.
I gravitate towards distilling an image that is effortlessly approachable and true. Much of my work emerges out of a commitment to the return — to places, communities, explorations, meditations – to sense more deeply what it is to which we belong.
“He's a master of many styles and idioms, from “pictorialism" to "documentary", including abstraction, portraits, fashion, industrial forms, and expressionist studies of melancholy and absence.”
-Benita Eisler, Art Historian
