Make Your Mark Campaign
I was commissioned to direct and shoot a project with Graj + Gustavson in NYC for Cross Pens: take an elemental instrument of creativity, the pen, into the 21st century.
As mankind progresses headlong into the seemingly endless digital world, creative processes, problem solving, and workflows are being transformed. Undeniably for many, the pen remains a mainstay in their approach to their own works. Almost 500 years after the first pencil was created in England, we still find this timeless apparatus more efficient than most modern day tools to convey complex thoughts and ideas.
For Cross, I shot four individuals, each with a unique background, creative approach, and place in the world: songwriter Kate Davis, artist/art critic Enrico Oyama, social entrepreneur Peter Thum, and singer Cris Cab. We walked away with an emotive range of images (gifs too!), short films, and audio interviews from each subject, emanating exactly what a Cross pen means to each creative's methadology.
